Rules to know to sell in France

  • Craftspeople in France: the business must be registered in the national register of companies (online procedure on the one-stop shop).
  • Vocational training in France: a training provider must declare its activity; the Qualiopi certification is required for some public funding.
  • Works of art and old cultural goods: some can only leave the European Union with an export licence.

Ideas for your trade

  • 💡 Real example: a concept store in Paris orders rattan baskets and water hyacinth placemats from a Thai craftsman; a language school offers online French lessons in Bangkok.
  • 🛍️ Products: weaving, decorative ceramics, painted objects, printed cards and books.
  • 🤝 Services: lessons, workshops, language courses, training.
  • 🔧 Equipment: craft tools, threads, beads.
  • 👉 Check first for antiques and protected materials (ivory, shells, skins).
  • 📦 Tip: light, compact products cost less to ship. For Thailand, include customs duties in your price: since 2026 they apply from the very first baht.
